NOTE:
- Messages delivered while you are logged into the platform are not retained if you close your session intentionally or unintentionally or if your browser crashes.
- The Message Center is cleared of all messages when you log out of the platform.
- Asynchronous messages are not retained when you are not logged into the platform.
- If there is a message or messages in the Message Center, the letter (envelope) icon is green and the link and icon are active.
- If the connection is not established (either when initially establishing the connection with the server or when there is a lost connection due to a network problem), a red X icon and the text Messaging Unavailable display.
- The Message Center can contain a maximum of 250 messages. When it reaches 225, a warning message displays: Warning: oldest to new read messages, followed by oldest unread messages will automatically be deleted upon reaching limit of 250 (25 to go). The 25 to go section of the warning is updated as new messages are added (without deletions) until it reaches 1 to go. When the message count reaches 250, the oldest to newest read messages are deleted first, followed by the oldest unread messages.

Overview
The Message Center serves as the repository for the real-time notification of the success or failure of asynchronous operations within the platform. The time to complete some complex functions, such as the creation of a criteria-based group, may be lengthy enough that it causes your browser to time out. If this is the case, you could not receive the status of the criteria-based group creation. The Message Center enables you to start a process and then continue working within the platform without waiting for this process to finish. When it completes, a notification is posted in the Message Center and the indicator in the top of the toolbar is updated to reflect the presence of a new message.

Accessing the Message Center
- Select the x New Messages link in the top portion of the toolbar, where x equals the number of unread messages. NOTE: No New Messages displays if there are no unread messages or no messages at all in the Message Center.
- The Message Center pop-up screen displays. At the top of the screen is an indicator or the total number of messages and the number of those messages that are unread. Select a bold (unread) entry in the Messages column to display a pop-up screen containing information related to the message; the unread message indicator is decreased by 1. An example of the contents of this pop-up screen is the display of the Import Status screen in the event of an import error.
- Based on the contents of the pop-up screen, it may be necessary for you to perform additional action (especially in the case of an error or failure indicator.). However, in some cases, the message is purely informational and no action is required on your part.
- After reading a message, you can select its associated Delete link to remove it from the list. NOTE: Select the Delete All button to clear the Message Center.
- If you chose to delete one or all messages, the total and new message counts are updated accordingly.
