You can access a list of all accounts to which you are authorized, or you can filter the list using an account number, the name of the primary account holder, the FBSI short name, the custom short name, the Social Security number (SSN) of the primary account holder, or the tax identification number (TIN) for the account.
From the list of accounts, you can access windows to which you are entitled. If you attempt to open an account-related window without first selecting an account, a version of the Accounts window opens, from which you must select an account number to proceed. In this situation, you can filter accounts, but you cannot customize the window or access the Advanced Search window.
After you select an account, it becomes the account in context and is used when you access account-related windows. To change the account in context, select another account on the Accounts window.
If you know the account number or SSN/TIN, you can quickly retrieve the account without selecting it from the list of accounts. Additionally, if more than 2,000 accounts are associated with your user ID, or you choose not to show the All Accounts list on the window, an additional search criterion is available.
NOTE
To display the full text for a value in a column that is truncated, position your pointer over the value.
You can enter the nine-character brokerage account number with or without the hyphen.
The All Accounts (nn) link shows the number of accounts associated with your user ID, where nn is the number of accounts. As you enter an account number or name in the search box, the list dynamically changes to include only those accounts where the account number or name begins with the characters that you enter. For example, if you enter 03 in the search box, the filtered list includes only accounts where the account number or name begins with 03.
You can filter the list of accounts to view only a subset of all accounts. To filter accounts, the All Accounts list must show on the window. To hide or show the All Accounts list or to change the default search criterion, go to Customizing the Window.
Sorting the list of accounts
The All Accounts and Filtered Results lists are sorted automatically based on the criterion that you are using for the filter. If the search criterion includes primary account holder, custom short name, or FBSI short name, the list sorts on the Primary Account Holder, Custom Short Name, or FBSI Short Name column, and the column moves to the second position. If the search criterion is SSN/TIN, that column appears in the list and is used for the sort. The secondary sort is Registration and then Account #.
An arrow in the column heading indicates the column that is used for the sort and whether the sort is ascending or descending.
If you have removed the All Accounts list from the window, or you have more than 2,000 accounts associated with your user ID, an additional search criterion is available.
You can enter a value for the first search criterion, the second search criterion, or both. If you enter two values, results must match both values. For example, if you enter only an RR1 code, the results include only accounts where the RR1 code matches the account. If you enter the last name of the primary account holder and an RR1 code, the results include all accounts where both the last name and the RR1 code match the account.
Sorting the list of accounts
The Search Results list is sorted automatically based on the option selected for the first search criterion, whether that criterion is used for the search or not. If the first search criterion includes primary account holder, custom short name, or FBSI short name, the search results are sorted on the Primary Account Holder, Custom Short Name, or FBSI Short Name column, and the column moves to the second position. If the first search criterion is SSN/TIN, that column appears in the list and is used for the sort.
An arrow in the column heading indicates the column that is used for the sort and whether the sort is ascending or descending.
To navigate to a specific account-related window, in the Account # column, select a linked account and select an option from the menu. The selected window opens for the account.
or

TopAfter you access an account from the Accounts window, the account is appended to a list of recently viewed accounts. This list is saved during your current platform session.
Select the Recently Viewed Accounts (nn) link, where nn equals the number of accounts you have viewed during the current platform session.
The list displays up to 100 accounts and is sorted in the order in which the accounts were selected, with the most recently viewed account at the top of the list.
TopThe Refresh icon is available when Show All Accounts is selected as the window preference. When the window is refreshed, the following changes are made to the window:
To refresh the Accounts window, select the Refresh icon above the list of accounts.
TopTo close the Accounts window without selecting an account, select Accounts or select anywhere outside the window.
TopYou can change the default search criterion and you can choose whether to show the All Accounts list on the window. You must be entitled to customize the window.
Showing the all accounts list is recommended for users with fewer than 2,000 accounts. If you have a large number of accounts, removing the all accounts list can improve the performance of the Accounts window.
NOTE
SSN/TIN cannot be the default search criterion.
