Overview

A prompted report enables you to modify some criteria and settings to your liking before you run the report. Similar to editing a report, use this feature to perhaps limit or expand on the existing report criteria.

An Prompted Report icon next to the report name on the Reports window indicates that you can modify criteria. A prompted report can be a Shared or a Personal report; a prompted report cannot be a scheduled report.

Run a Prompted Report

Some report criteria and settings may exist in the report that are not "prompted." Criteria and settings that are not prompted will still be used in addition to any criteria and settings that you do modify. What is modifiable is based on the prompted choices elected by the report creator. As always, a report returns data only when it satisfies all report criteria.

You are not required to modify prompted criteria and settings. To run the report as is, when the View Report window opens, simply select View.

To run a prompted report

  1. In the Menu column for a prompted report, select the arrow.

  2. Choose View.

    - Just the criteria and settings which are prompted display.

  3. Enter your changes to the criteria and settings.

    - Modifying prompted reports is similar to editing reports. (Edit a Report)

  4. When done, select View.
