Overview

After you locate an account, navigate to other features to which you are entitled. The selected account becomes the account in context for other windows you open.

Links that display on the Account Search window are based on your entitlements and how you choose to customize the window (Customize the Window):

  • Recent
Lists up to 100 accounts that you viewed during the current session. The link becomes enabled only after you have selected an account.

  • All
Lists accounts within your firm to which you are authorized. This displays only if you customize the window to Show the All Accounts List.

If you choose not to show the All list, when Account Search opens, accounts do not list in the window. You still have access to all your accounts, yet without having to view your entire list. Additionally, if your ID is associated with more than 2,000 accounts, accounts do not list until your search retrieves 2,000 or fewer results. The All link indicates in parentheses the number of accounts you are authorized to access.

  • Results
Lists the most recent set of search results. This link is not available until after you have performed a search. These results remain even when you navigate away from Account Search and then return.

Search for Accounts

Since the Search window is used to search for accounts, clients, and groups, you can select a default search option that prefills upon opening the window. (Customize the Window)

- Search Using an Account Number
- Search Using Basic Criteria
- Search Using Advanced Criteria

Note
When searching for an account using either an account number or SSN/TIN, hyphens are not required.

Search Using Basic Criteria

Search for your authorized accounts using basic search criteria:

Authorized to 2,000 Accounts or Fewer

When you have chosen to show the All link and you are authorized to 2,000 accounts or fewer, a type-ahead feature is available. As you enter a search value, the list dynamically filters to include only those names or numbers that "contain" or "start" with the characters that you enter.

Authorized to More Than 2,000 Accounts

When you are authorized to more than 2,000 accounts, your list of accounts does not automatically display until your search retrieves 2,000 or fewer results.

Secondary Search Criteria

Refine your search by including secondary search criteria: RR1, RR2, or Agency. When your search includes secondary criteria, results must match all values that you enter. As an alternative, you can choose not to show secondary criteria. (Customize the Window)

Return to Recently Viewed Accounts

Select Recent.

Change the View Mode

If entitled, easily switch from Grid View to List View when you need a more compact view of the accounts. In List View, there are no column headers; fields display in the following arrangement:
