Account Cartridge displays above various account windows when an account is in context, and is composed of five sections, from left to right:
Account Number
Indicates the frame of reference for the information that currently displays. Expand the section to display a menu, which provides access to functions for the shown account. The Custom Short Name/FBSI Short Name associated with the account displays above the account number. (Set Short Name Display)
Icons
Displays icons that enable access to additional account detail such as Restrictions and Suitability, where entitled. The suitability information in the Account Cartridge is also available on Account Profile. (Suitability)
Account Information
Shows the name of the primary account holder and the registration. For Fidelity brokerage accounts, expand this section to display additional account information.
Balances
Features up to two account balances that you can choose to display prominently prior to expanding. For Fidelity brokerage accounts, expand this section to view additional balances, calculated intraday. Intraday balances are defined as market values based on real-time positions and close of business pricing, and real-time cash balances.
- Brokerage balances are intraday and display in U.S. dollars.
- Select Refresh to update Balances.
- Multi-Margin Model displays if account is in Multiple Margin Relationship.
Firm and Investments
Features up to two firm and investment attributes that you can choose to display prominently prior to expanding. For Fidelity brokerage accounts, expand this section to view additional firm and investments information.
A Restrictions icon displays on the Account Cartridge when there are Fidelity-imposed or user-defined restrictions on the current account. Restrictions alert you to account conditions that may impact your ability to process certain transactions.
Restrictions fall into two categories:
Other user-defined or custom restrictions such as "Don't Buy EMC" or "Don't Trade AAPL" are created by your firm. (Create a Trade Restriction)
Field | Definition |

Code | The two-character code that identifies the restriction. |
Input Date | The date the restriction was placed on the account. |
Expiration Date | A system-generated date that is only applicable to certain restriction codes with expiration dates, such as H7 (10 Day Temp Freeze). |
Dept | The department affiliation of the user who added the restriction. |
Description | The description of the restriction code. |
Comments | The comment entered by the user who added or edited the restriction on the account. |
Action Msg | The actions that must be taken or not taken until the restriction is removed; for example, RESTRICTED. |

When viewing a Fidelity brokerage account, customize Account Cartridge so it displays the information most relevant to your business. You can designate up to two balances that display in the Balances section and up to two attributes that display in the Firm and Investments section. You also can set a default view, so Account Cartridge opens with one of the three sections expanded.
Note
The ability to customize Account Cartridge is not available for Fidelity non-brokerage accounts (CGF Donor Advised Fund, Fidelity Annuity, Fidelity Life Insurance, and Fidelity 403(b)/401(k) accounts).
To customize Account Cartridge
Do the following:
To open Account Cartridge with one section expanded:
- Select the Show the expanded view as default check box.
- Select the section to expand when Account Cartridge opens:
To choose which balances to display, from the Balances drop-down lists:
- Choose from one or both drop-down lists.
- Default for the first drop-down list is Total Account Value.
- Default for the second is Cash Avail. to Trade.
- To not display a balance, select None.
To choose which firm and investments attributes to display, from the Firm and Investments drop-down lists:
- Choose from one or both drop-down lists.
- Default for the first drop-down list is RR1/RR2/Agency.
- Default for the second is eDelivery Enrollment.
- To not display a balance, select None.

Date of Birth (Age) | The date of birth of the primary account holder, followed by the calculated age of the account holder in parentheses. |

The email address of the primary account holder. The email address displays as a hyperlink. Select the hyperlink to email the primary account holder. | |
FBSI Short Name | The short name assigned to the account in Fidelity's brokerage system. |
Primary Account Holder | The name of the primary account holder on the account, in last name, first name format. |
Registration | The description of the type of ownership registered for the account, such as Individual or Corporation, along with its code in parentheses. |

Cash Avail to Trade | The dollar amount available to purchase securities in the cash account. This amount includes the core account, plus eligible non-core money markets, plus cash credits in the account. It does not include margin cash available. Note

Cash Avail to Withdraw | The amount collected and available for immediate withdrawal. This balance includes both core money market and other eligible money market funds held in the account. Intraday non-trade debits to a cash account (type 1) are subtracted from the cash available to withdraw. Debits or credits from intraday trading activity may be netted and further reduce the amount available for withdrawal. |

Cash Securities MV | The total market value of all account positions held in the cash account. This figure is reduced by in-the-money amounts of covered call options. |
Core/Sweep Fund | The cash credit balance held in the core money market account as of the close of the previous business day. This balance is held until the customer invests or withdraws it. As transactions settle, this account is debited or credited. |

Margin Securities MV | The total market value of all account positions held in the margin account. |
Settled Cash | The amount of cash in the account, including proceeds from activity settling today. This represents the amount of securities you can buy and sell in a cash account without creating a good faith violation. Settled Cash = Core Sweep/Fund + Non-Core Money Market - Exercisable value of cash covered puts +/- Cash account settlement date balances (ex.: Journals, Checks, EFTs, Wires) - Unsettled cash debits - Settled cash credits from short sells (settled short equity and short options) + Cash credit (sells) settling intraday - Cash credit settling intraday from short sells + Cash credit settling intraday from short option sells - Uncollected checks/EFTs |
Total Account Value | The total value of all assets in the account held at National Financial Services LLC (NFS), not including Insurance & Annuities and Other Away Assets. This amount includes the net market value of all positions held long or short in the account, minus outstanding debit balances, amounts required to cover short option positions that are in-the-money, and the total amount of securities you have loaned, if entitled. |
Unsettled Cash Credit | The amount of unsettled cash (cash in an interim state) in the account that will be credited to the core account when the trades settle. Intraday settling amounts are included in Settled Cash balance. |
Unsettled Cash Debit | The amount of unsettled cash (cash in an interim state) in the account that will be debited from the core account when the trades settle. A - (minus sign) denotes the debit. Intraday settling amounts are included in Settled Cash balance. |

Schedule Code | The description along with its two-digit code that identifies the commission schedule used to calculate commissions for the account. If a special schedule was not established for the firm, the system uses the default commission schedule. |
Super Branch | A three-character prefix that identifies your firm, if applicable. |
