Overview

From Orders Unsent, create exchanges by converting buy and sell mutual fund orders within the same account to one of the following exchange types:

• Exchange Fund
  An exchange within the same fund family
• Cross Fund Family
  An exchange between different fund families

Note
To build exchanges, you must be entitled to Cross Fund Family trading.

Build Exchanges

Build Exchanges attempts to create exchange orders; this operation cannot be stopped or undone. While this process is running, members of your firm cannot modify, send, or delete the impacted mutual fund orders. However, you and members of your firm still can add new orders.

1. Select Trade > Order Management > Orders-Unsent.

2. Select each mutual fund order to include in the exchange.

   Note
   Only by selecting mutual fund orders does the Build Exchanges button become enabled.

3. Select Build Exchanges.

4. Choose one of the following:

   All Mutual Fund Orders
   Build exchanges for all mutual fund orders listed on Orders Unsent.

   Selected Orders
   Build exchanges for only the orders you selected on Orders Unsent.

5. To build exchanges automatically where possible between buy and sell orders for a single account within different fund families, select the Auto Build Cross Fund check box.

   A new Cross Fund Family order is created and the buy and sell orders are deleted.

6. Select Build Exchanges.

   A confirmation indicates the exchanges were submitted, which may take a few minutes to complete. Refer to the Message Center for the status of the operation. (View Messages)

   When the process is complete, the possible exchanges display on Orders Unsent. The Action column displays Exchange Fund or Cross Fund Family.
