Overview
New Import Model Template NEW
Import models that you created in another application, such as Microsoft® Excel®. Once imported, locate the models on the Model List window. Imported models can be used for rebalancing and in drift reports.
Model information is imported using comma delimited files (CSV). Data in the CSV file must be separated by commas and must comply with the import model specifications. The specifications vary slightly for Brokerage and Workplace Investing models. Locate the specifications, examples, and instructions for creating an import model file in the new template.
Note
You cannot import Composite or Asset Class models.
If an imported file has errors, the models in the file are still imported, but you cannot use the models until the errors are corrected. To correct the models, either use the edit capability on the Model List window where you can view the imported models or correct the source file and re-import. (Edit Models)
On the Model List window, models with errors display "Partial Allocation" in the Error column. From Model List, access a model's details to view further error descriptions.
To import models
Select Browse to locate and attach the saved import file (CSV).
- This is the file created using the New Import Model Template.
- Once attached, the file name displays on Import Model.
Select Import.
The platform validates the file format and verifies that the model's name is unique, the model contains valid security symbols and/or CUSIPs, the sum of targets for percent-based models equals 100%, and the assigned accounts are valid.
The window now displays two tabs:
Status
Displays a Percentage Complete indicator, as well as the sum of models imported successfully, models overwritten successfully, models imported with errors, and models import failed. The information includes the status of the import, and each model's name, creation date, and update date/time.
Log
Aggregates components included in the import, such as the total number of model assignments imported and whether they were imported correctly.
If successful, select Back to Model List to view the imported model.
