Models represent a set of securities whose investment objectives you want another account or group of accounts to match. In addition to securities, some models may consist of other models (referred to as sub-models) with different weights and maximum limits. Accounts assigned to a model are then rebalanced according to that model's particular investment objectives.
Brokerage
PM&R offers these Brokerage model types:
Individual
This model type contains at least one security. Individual models may be either dollar- or percent-based. This choice impacts how the model's tolerance limits are calculated.
Composite
This model type contains at least one model, and a security or a second model. Composite models are percent-based only.
Asset Class (If entitled)
An Asset Class model type contains groups of securities based on designated asset class attributes. Asset Class models are percent-based.
Workplace Investing (If entitled)
This model type is comprised of investment plans that contain specific funds. Workplace Investing (WI) models can only be assigned to WI accounts that participate in the same plans represented in the WI model. WI models are percent-based.
Fidelity Models (If entitled)
This model type represents predefined Fidelity model portfolios, which advisors may copy and then customize to match an investor's strategy.
Search for a model by, for example, model type (Individual, Composite, and if entitled, Asset Class and Workplace Investing), or model element (security symbol or model). You may also search for invalid models, which are models with issues that you must resolve before using the model to rebalance an account.
From the search results, select a model to view its details.
Note
