- Resolve Household Conflicts
When an account is assigned to more than one model – a model conflict results. Resolve conflicts by reviewing the assignments and then choosing the correct model to assign to an account. By not resolving a model conflict, you cannot rebalance the impacted account or run a drift report.
Since an account should be assigned to only one model at a time, conflicts can occur when assignments are entered at the client-level or group-level, but the participating account is already assigned to another model at the account-level.
For example, create a model called "Technology Companies" and assign the model to account 179-000001. Then, create another model called "Biotechnology Companies" and assign this model to the Smith Family group; this group contains accounts 179-000002, 179-000003, and 179-000004. Since there are no conflicts, you can add model assignments without errors. Some time later, edit the Smith Family group by adding account 179-000001. In making this edit, you have assigned account 179-000001 to more than one model (Technology Companies model and Biotechnology Companies model).
Select Models > Resolve Model Conflicts.
- Accounts with more than one model assignment display.
- Expand or collapse rows as needed.
Below an account, select which Model Name to assign.
- Continue resolving conflicts for all listed accounts.
Occasionally, a model conflict results when an account is added to a client after the household was created. When this occurs, a message on Resolve Model Conflicts explains that "the account has an error with its household assignment."
Although this type of conflict displays with other listed conflicts, you must resolve this conflict instead on the Manage Model Assignments window. (Manage Model Assignments)
