Security Cross Reference - Override Price


Overview

NOTE: Please be aware of the following message that displays in the Override Price screen: You are electing to override the Last Price, which may be used to calculate proposed orders. The price you entered is not validated by Fidelity.

The order calculations use the Last Price at the time of the Find Positions search, which is the intraday Last Price during market hours for equities and options, and the last close price for mutual funds. You can override this amount to create a "what if" price scenario. However, please keep the following in mind if you choose to do so:

Overriding Price

NOTE: Select the Cancel without making changes link to ignore any edits to the Price field and close the pop-up screen.

  1. Select the Override button above the Positions and Proposed Orders List. The Override Price pop-up screen displays.
  2. The Price field populates with the last available price; this value also displays above the Positions and Proposed Orders List, along with its As of timestamp (Month-Day-Year Hour:Minute AM/PM Eastern time).
  3. Enter the revised value in the Price field.
  4. Select the Save button that activates when you type within the Price field to save your modification and close the Override Price pop-up screen. NOTE: The Estimated Order Value in the Buys and/or Sells sections below the list are modified accordingly.
  5. The Price section above the Positions and Proposed Orders List displays the Last Price as well as the Override Price. When you create an Override Price, the Use Last button activates. Select the Use Last button to return the Price to the last available value and deactivate the button.
